Longest Heat Stretch

August 30, 2017

The longest stretch of consecutive days with eight record highs in Cleveland is not a contemporary record at all. In fact, that record is over sixty years old. It’s also the only time when Cleveland saw three consecutive days of over 100°F

Ground Fog

August 30, 2017

The “morning valley fog” season is starting. It’s an indication that we are starting to enter into a more fall-like pattern with light winds, clear skies, and longer nights of radiational cooling. Here are a couple of images of yesterday’s EF-0 tornado that touched down just NE of the Youngstown-Vienna Airport.
