Sunrise River Fog

We are entering into the season (late summer, early fall) when river valley fog frequently forms befoire sunrise when skies are clear and winds are calm. You can see the delicate tendrils of condensed fog particles on the visible satellite image from this morning at just before 8:00 AM EDT.

This is what it looked like on the campus of Northern Vermont University (aka Lyndon State College) this morning, along the Passumpsic River.

This was the common morning scene there during my college days (1977-1981) in September and October.
