Stratospheric Clouds

I’ve seen a number of posts over the last few days of “stratospheric clouds” that are illuminated by a very low-angle sun in some of the arctic areas of the northern hemisphere. Here is a good example posted by Arnibj√∂rn of Twitter earlier today:
