Atmospheric Eddies

Satellite and radar loops are excellent resources when trying to find the center of even the smallest low pressure system. Take Sunday, for example. To locate the center of the low, look for the counter-clockwise spinning motion. In BOTH visible satellite and radar loops, you can see it spinning from near Moline, Illinois and moving toward Peoria, Illinois:

Sure enough, you can see the low analyzed 6 hours before near Iowa City at around 25,000 feet (300 MB):
